「IoT WEB PLC Series」 Information
Humanity has rapidly deteriorated the global environment in its pursuit of development and desires. This has brought a crisis to all life forms on Earth. As a result, the next generation—our children—can no longer fully experience the natural blessings we once enjoyed and are compelled to live in a world where extreme weather has become the norm. Consequently, the awareness of kindness and the sanctity of life that nature teaches us is fading.
The degradation of the Earth’s environment and the disruption of ecological balance lead to:
1. Accelerated Environmental Destruction: Continued deforestation, ocean pollution, and other destructive activities further damage ecosystems, leading to increased extinction of plants and animals.
2. Worsening Climate Change: The frequent occurrence of extreme weather events severely impacts agricultural production and heightens the prevalence of natural disasters, affecting society and the economy.
3. Social Fragmentation: Competition for natural resources and the response to environmental issues exacerbate international relations, resulting in political instability.
4. Health Impacts: Expanding air and water pollution jeopardizes public health.
These concerns are increasingly likely to negatively affect global peace, economies, and political stability.

We aim to mitigate global warming and create a healthy ecosystem through the “IoT WEB PLC Series.”
This system monitors the habitats of diverse life forms, including animals, plants, aquatic organisms, insects, and microorganisms, and creates environments tailored to their needs. By doing so, it contributes to the conservation of ecosystems and the realization of a sustainable society.
Use Cases: Specific Functions and Benefits
Below are examples of how the “IoT WEB PLC Series” can be utilized:
- Automatic Adjustment of CO2 Levels, Temperature, and Humidity
Real-time management of temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels to maintain optimal conditions. This enhances comfort while also reducing energy consumption.

Example of a hydroponic cultivation measurement and control system

- Using Keyence's water level sensor, water levels are measured in 1mm increments, and water supply and drainage amounts are measured using a flow sensor, all connected to WEBCON via IO Link (LAN). Communication is done using Modbus.
- Modbus is a serial communication protocol developed by Modicon in 1979. It is used for data exchange between PLCs and electronic devices.
- Modbus is widely adopted as the de facto standard in industrial fields because its specifications are open and free to use.
- Modbus helps in connecting and managing multiple devices on the same network.
- There are two types of Modbus: MODBUS/RTU and MODBUS/TCP.
- MODBUS/RTU sends and receives data in binary, and MODBUS/TCP is based on Ethernet (TCP/IP) networks.
・The nutrient concentration in the nutrient solution is measured by an EC sensor, pH values by a pH sensor, and water temperature
by a water temperature sensor, all connected to the SENSOR UNIT and linked to WEBCON up to 30 meters away via a LAN cable.
・From WEBCON, it is possible to timer control the water supply solenoid valve, drainage solenoid valve, circulation pump,
liquid fertilizer bellows pump, and cultivation LED lighting (for seedlings and transplanting) across 19 systems at 15-minute intervals.
・Wireless devices measure CO2 levels and temperature and humidity at several locations within the facility, and can adjust the CO2 to levels suitable for plants.
